Burl (Pat Myne) is a mentally challenged warehouse worker who spends most of his days working quietly, passing his days by vicariously living through the paintings he comes into contact with. Burl treats each painting with care and love, as though they were his “children,” the paintings are his life, what he lives for. One day, a particular painting catches Burls eye, one of a beautiful woman (Stormy) in Victoria attire. The portrait is entitled Portrait of Simone. Burl becomes obsessed with the portrait of Simone and as he daydreams, he fantasizes that he can pass into Simones world and experience what she experiences. Reaching out for the canvas, to his amazement the canvas ripples and he is able to pass into Simones world. Once inside the canvas, Simone shows Burl a world that he has never known, one of vivid sexual escapades and sensuality. What Burl soon discovers though is that when you live in a fantasy world, your sense of reality becomes distorted, often costing you more than you bargained for. The Portrait, art has never looked this good…
